Day of Loyalty to retired servicemen marked for February 15

AMMAN — The Day of Loyalty to retired servicemen, which annually falls on February 15, is a day of gratitude and recognition for the brothers in arms’ efforts and sacrifices, Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV) Director General, retired Maj. Gen. Ismail Shoubaki, said on Monday.
Expressing appreciation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts in support of brothers in arms, Shoubaki highlighted the Royal directives and decisions related to improving military retirees’ living and social conditions.
Highlighting the Royal attention attached to the military retirees, he said that His Majesty the late King Hussein in 1974 issued directives to establish an association dedicated to military retirees, adding, under His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives issued in 2012, the country designated February 15 as a national day that recognises the service of veterans.
