Deadline to apply to universities expires

AMMAN — The Unified Admission Committee on Thursday midnight finished receiving applications for enrolment in the regular programme at public universities for the 2015-16 scholastic year, Committee President Ghalib Hourani said Friday.
The committee received 33,850 applications until 8pm on Thursday, Hourani said, adding that reviewing applications was scheduled to start on Saturday, with results expected to be announced during the first week of September.
The Higher Education Council on Wednesday decided to accept 28,275 students in the regular programme at public universities in the next academic year.
