Dughmi meets with Hungary Deputy Speaker

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulkareem Al Dughmi on Wednesday met Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Istvan Jakab and discussed enhancing bilateral relations between the nations. 

Dughmi highlighted the "distinguished" nature of Jordanian-Hungarian relations, emphasising the importance of joint parliamentary action to align positions on issues of common interest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.   

Ahmad Safadi, the first deputy speaker, lauded Hungary’s political stances in support of Jordan, most notably those related to the Hashemite Custodianship of Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian sites.

He also commended Hungarian support for the Kingdom's efforts in hosting refugees. Jakab expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's role at the regional and international levels, stressing his country's support for Jordan's efforts in various fields and keenness to bolster mutual ties.
