Education Ministry, British Council sign agreement to train 9000 English teachers

AMMAN — The Ministry of Education and the British Council on Wednesday signed the amended addendum to their joint agreement to implement the "Education for Success" Programme project to train English teachers in Jordanian public schools. Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzeh and the council's Country Director Jordan & Levant Cluster Lead Alex Lambert signed the agreement, the Jordan News Agency, reported. According to the new agreement, which aims to enhance joint cooperation, the scope of the programme's implementation is modified to train 3, 000 English teachers in government schools annually for a 3-year period, with a total of 9,000 beneficiaries. The agreement also targets all English supervisors in the ministry's Educational Supervision and Training Department and training is integrated and implemented as per the two sides' executive plan.
