Emirates Red Crescent signs agreement to provide healthcare to Syrian patients

AMMAN — King Abdullah University Hospital on Thursday signed a health insurance agreement with the Emirates Red Crescent to provide treatment for Syrian patients residing in Mrajeeb Fhood refugee camp.

The hospital’s General Director Khaldoon Bashaireh said that the agreement embodies the cooperation between the two sides for over a decade, facilitating treatment for Syrian patients in the camp in the Azraq area at the hospital, providing specialised and advanced medical care.

Bashaireh added that the significant support provided by the United Arab Emirates through the Emirates Red Crescent has contributed to treating many medical cases of Syrian refugees within the camp and ensuring the continuity of this care, especially since the hospital represents a model of comprehensive healthcare.

Deputy Commander of the Emirati Relief Team Yousef Abdullah Harmoudi expressed his great pleasure in signing the agreement, which reflects the trust built, based on the previous experience of cooperation between the two parties. 

He added that the continuation of treating Syrian patients residing in the camp align with the Emirates Red Crescent and the UAE’s message in supporting the provision of healthcare to camp residents and ensuring its continuity.
