AMMAN — The Business Development Centre (BDC) has recently launched an exhibition of Jordanian products under the "Strengthening Access to Protection, Participation and Services for Women Refugees and Women in the Host Communities in Jordan” project.
The BDC launched the exhibition in cooperation with the European Union Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, the EU “Madad” Fund and in partnership with the Euro-Mediterranean Women's Initiative, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times on Sunday.
The project aims at improving employment opportunities and women’s access to the labour market in five areas: Ajloun, Jerash, east Amman, Deir Alla and Azraq, according to the statement.
Assistant Governor of Ajloun Development Affairs Ibrahim Al Rawahneh launched the exhibition at the Jabal Ajloun Charity Association, the statement said, adding that the opening ceremony was attended by President of the General Union of Voluntary Societies Mona Bani Nasser and Director of Social Development Mariam Al Gharaibeh.
The exhibition displayed Jordanian products made by participants in the marketing and sales training workshops under the umbrella of the project, which aims at improving the livelihood of Syrian refugee women and host communities in Jordan.
The project also aims at overcoming social, cultural and legal barriers to employment as well as empowering women with better skills to meet the needs of the labour market.
