AMMAN — Legislation and taxation experts on Monday agreed to form a national coalition to provide recommendations and proposals on the new Income Tax Law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a panel discussion organised by the National Centre for Human Rights, Mousa Breizat, the centre’s chief commissioner, stressed the importance of reaching a clear stance within a national dialogue that includes all civil society representatives.
The new law must not have negative impacts on human rights, Breizat said. During the event, run by MP Wafaa Bani Mustafa, who is a member of the centre’s board of trustees, the participants discussed the main points of the law, which they said has to be modern, just, constitutional and free of defects.
