Faraiah meets secretary general of Arab Interior Ministers Council

AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah and Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Muhammad Koman on Tuesday discussed prospects to enhance joint Arab security cooperation and means to develop it to higher levels.

The meeting went over issues on the agenda of the Euro-Arab Border Security Conference, which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The event is hosted by the Public Security Directorate in coordination with Secretariat General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).

Faraiah highlighted the importance of the two-day event that marks the first Arab-European security meeting to discuss vital issues and joint challenges in the border security field. For his part, Koman expressed his appreciation for holding the conference in Jordan that is a land of “dialogue and meeting among civilisations”, praising the Kingdom’s effective role in the council.
