Fayez, Canada envoy talk ties

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday highlighted the “deep-rooted” Jordanian-Canadian ties and the importance of boosting them in various areas, mainly in the economic and political fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a meeting with Canadian Ambassador Donica Pottie, Fayez said Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, is “committed to enhancing bilateral relations and continuing coordination and consultation on various issues of common interest”.
The meeting tackled a number of current issues, especially those related to the regional peace process and conflict resolution, as well as means to financially support the Kingdom, which has received hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and is dealing with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pottie underlined the "depth and strength of the historical relations that bind the two countries”, pointing to bilateral cooperation in various fields. The Canadian envoy also voiced her country's willingness to continue developing and strengthening ties, and maintain communication and coordination to serve the two countries' interests, Petra added,
