Females constitute 24% of driving licence holders in Jordan

AMMAN — Jordan has 2.129 million driving licence holders, 23.97 per cent of whom are females, according to 2013 figures released by the Drivers’ and Vehicles’ Licensing Administration.
Female holders of automatic gearbox licences total 118,920, while 385,000 women were licensed to drive cars with a manual gearbox by the end of 2013.
Only one woman is licensed to drive an agriculture vehicle, while three are permitted to drive minibuses or cargo vehicles weighing less than two tonnes.
People between the ages of 18 and 35 had obtained 923,127 licences of various types by the end of 2013, while 78,494 licensed drivers are older than 72 years.
