Financial allocations for premier set at JD1.1m in 2015 budget bill

AMMAN – Financial allocations for the prime minister in the draft 2015 state budget law were set at JD1.1 million, a 10 per cent rise compared to JD1 million last year.
The allocation will remain the same in 2016 and 2017.
According to the draft law, the estimated budget of the Prime Ministry is set at around JD41.8 million, nearly 10 per cent (or JD4.3 million) of which will go as salaries and incentives for employees.
The number of Prime Ministry employees stood at 332 last year, with women constituting 26 per cent of the staff.
The number of female staff was 69, while the number of men was 263.
There are 18 advisers at the Prime Ministry, 17 of them men, the official figures indicated.
Current expenditures in the Prime Ministry budget was projected to be around JD26.8 million this year, while capital spendings is expected to stand at around JD15 million.
Over JD20.5 million of the current expenditures will go to support government agencies.
Figures in the draft spending bill showed that the cost of maintenance for Prime Ministry vehicles will be JD97,000 this year, up from JD81,000 re-estimated for 2014.
The Prime Ministry’s electricity bill, which was re-estimated at JD350,000 in 2014, is set to increase slightly to JD370,000 this year, while its fuel bill was JD225,000 last year and is projected to reach JD241,500 in 2015.
