AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said that it is following up on the situation of Jordanian citizens living in or visiting Gaza through its operations centre and the Jordanian embassy in Cairo, to facilitate their evacuation from the war-torn strip. Sufyan Qudah, the ministry's spokesperson, said that there are 568 Jordanians registered with the ministry who are currently in Gaza, 209 of them have been evacuated to Cairo via the Rafah border crossing, and 53 have been transported to Jordan by a Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft dispatched to Egypt's Al Arish Airport.  This plane also carried humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza, he said, adding that special team from the Jordanian embassy in Cairo is stationed on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing to ease the entry of Jordanian citizens from Gaza into Egypt.
