Foreign Ministry summons Dutch ambassador, conveys diplomatic protest

AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday summoned the Dutch ambassador to Amman to convey a “strongly worded” diplomatic protest over statements made by the Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders, “supportive of the denounced Israeli Knesset’s decision that denied the Palestinians their right of an independent state of their own.”
The ministry’s spokesperson Sufian Qudah said in a statement that a message of diplomatic protest has been handed over to the Dutch envoy to be sent to the government of The Netherlands to take a “clear position” and denounce such statements which “contradict the friendly relations between the two countries.”
Qudah described the statements of the Dutch far-right MP as being “of no legal impact and racit and constitute flagrant violation of the international law.
