Former US lawmakers praise Jordan’s role in region

AMMAN — Two former US lawmakers on Sunday praised Jordan for receiving refugees from Syria and for its role in addressing regional conflicts.
Ann Marie Buerkle and David Skaggs were speakling during a discussion at the University of Jordan, organised by the Prince Al Hussien Bin Abdullah II School of International Studies, on political, parliamentary and partisan life in the US, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
They said the influx of Syrian refugees into the Kingdom has placed pressure on its social structure and financial situation, commending the humanitarian effort the country has undertaken in this regard.
