AMMAN — A fourth passenger, involved in a road accident that occurred in Jerash on Tuesday, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, traffic officials said.
The accident, which happened on Jerash Highway on Tuesday, involved a head-on collision between two vehicles, causing the immediate death of three people and the injury of four others, a senior traffic official said.
The Traffic Department published a video on its Facebook page showing a vehicle overtaking two other vehicles then slamming head on with an oncoming car.
“The driver of the vehicle who attempted to pass in front of a trailer and of another vehicle was at fault,” the senior traffic official told The Jordan Times.
A second official said that the three injured are still hospitalised and in critical condition.
Last week, the Traffic Department launched its Facebook page with the aim of raising awareness about traffic safety and informing the public about recent traffic accidents across the Kingdom.
“We decided to publish certain videos that show traffic accidents in an attempt to raise awareness about the atrocities of such accidents,” the second traffic official told The Jordan Times.
