AMMAN — The government’s fuel pricing committee on Wednesday decided to maintain the prices of fuel derivatives for April, as they were in March.
Despite the increase in the prices of fuel derivatives in March compared with February’s prices, the government has directed the committee to continue selling the fuel derivatives at the same prices as they were in March, according to an Energy Ministry statement.
Prices of oil derivatives in the local market are calculated based on international prices, in addition to other costs, including shipping and taxes.
With the committee’s decision, the price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will stay at JD0.760 in April, the statement added.
The price per litre of unleaded 95-octane will continue selling at JD0.980.
The price of diesel will remain JD0.555, while the price of one litre of kerosene will remain unchanged at JD0.460 and the price of gas cylinders, as usual, remains at JD7.
The cost of a barrel of crude Brent oil went up from $62.2 in February to $65.7 in March.
The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission on Wednesday also decided to maintain the “differences in fuel prices” category on monthly electricity bills for April at zero fils per kilowatt-hour, according to a commission statement.
