‘GAM needs JD25 million annually for machinery maintenance’

AMMAN — Maintenance costs for Greater Amman Municipality’s (GAM) machinery amount to around JD25 million annually, Hussam Najdawi, (GAM) fleet executive director, said Monday.
There are 1,900 vehicles, and pieces of machinery and equipment used to serve Amman and meet the needs of its residents, whether in terms of environment or infrastructure services, he added.
As part of a 10-year plan to upgrade its environmental and sanitary services, GAM added 94 pieces of machinery to its fleet, at a cost exceeding JD8 million, Najdawi said. This year, it will add another 37 new vehicles.
