AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding delineating intent to cooperate on the “Amman is Listening” project, which received $1 million from the Bloomberg Philanthropies as part of the 2021 Global Mayors Challenge.
The memo aims to reaffirm UNDP's commitment to work with GAM and its partners to develop more inclusive, resilient and productive cities, as well as to achieve local sustainable development goals and emphasise the role of innovation to accelerate city development, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project is an online participatory platform with interactive maps developed by GAM that allows residents to navigate the city, especially during crises.
