AMMAN — The natural gas supply diversification policy and long-term natural gas supply agreements, according to current supply contracts, saved $1.2 billion during the January through September period, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh said on Tuesday.
Delivering a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College titled "2020/2030 Energy Sector Strategy", Kharabsheh said that the supply diversification policy and long-term natural gas supply agreements have protected the National Electric Power Company against global liquefied natural gas price hikes, according to a ministry statement. The minister noted that renewable energy's share in electricity generation accounted for 29 per cent.
