AMMAN — Jordanian non-governmental organisation Generations For Peace (GFP) has been ranked 26th in the Advisor’s Top 200 World NGOs, snatching the top ranking among Arab countries.
GFP, a Jordan-based global non-profit organisation founded and chaired by HRH Prince Feisal, has maintained its ranking as the second leading anti-violence organisation and the third leading peacebuilding organisation in the world in the 2021 rankings conducted by the Geneva-based Advisor.
Following the announcement, Prince Feisal, who is also GFP's chairman, said that “GFP’s maintenance of its position as the 26th best NGO in the world amid the hard times that we all experienced as a result of the outbreak of the pandemic, shows the organisation’s resilience, driven by global volunteering”, according to a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Despite all these unprecedented circumstances, the GFP has managed to take the necessary steps towards adapting with tough situations, optimising the capabilities and creativity to continue to provide its services worldwide, the prince said, expressing pride in volunteers’ efforts towards putting shared values into practice to improve their communities.
“This global recognition truly reflects the efforts of the GFP made around the world,” Prince Feisal said, expressing appreciation of donors and partners efforts towards instilling peace.
Jean-Christophe Nothias, editor of the ‘Top 200 NGOs’ list, emphasised the importance of the GFP’s achievements, pointing out that the GFP steers young people to achieve the required social change via building mutual respect, tolerance, trust and bridges of dialogue, Petra added.
The GFP’s high ranking in 2021 has been based on several factors including testing innovation in developing peacebuilding tools, adaptive programming, abidance with impact measurement, participatory evaluation, continuous learning, focusing on sustainability via creating partnerships with UN agencies, governmental donors and commercial partners.
