Ghezawi, Egypt ambassador discuss guest labour

AMMAN — Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi on Wednesday met with Egypt’s Ambassador in Amman Tarek Adel to discuss issues related to Egyptian labour in Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ghezawi stressed the importance of supporting Egyptian workers and raising their awareness on legalising their statuses in order to work and protect their labour rights in the Kingdom.
He highlighted the government’s decision to grant them a two-month period to rectify their status. For his part, the ambassador pledged to use all available means to raise awareness among Egyptian workers, commending the government decision to grant a grace period to the workers.
