Government coordinator for human rights discusses cooperation with FES

AMMAN — Government Coordinator for Human Rights Basel Tarawneh on Tuesday met with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Resident Director Tim O. Petschulat to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation and strengthening the human rights in Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, attended by FES Jordan Programme Manager Maha Qashou, Tarawneh reviewed the government's efforts in following up on the implementation of the holistic national human rights plan and the universal periodic review.
He also reviewed the government plans and programmes that aim at enhancing joint cooperation between the various government institutions and the civil society organisations.
For his part, Petschulat praised the efforts exerted by Jordan in upholding human rights, citing future plans for joint efforts with the government which includes conducting events and training programmes on human-rights related issues.
