Gov’t announces 43,000 to benefit from education funding

AMMAN — The Higher Education Ministry on Sunday estimated the number of students to benefit from scholarships, loans and grants for the 2018/2019 academic year at 42,912 bachelors and diploma degree students.
The ministry, in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that a total of 52,032 applications had been submitted online to benefit from the Students’ Fund.
The Royal Court covered 69 additional students who passed the General Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (Tawjihi) from schools in poverty pockets. Since its establishment in the scholastic year 2004/2005, the fund benefited a total of 320,539 students until the 2017/2018 year with a total value of JD250,000 million.
