Hammouri says safety, quality of products ‘top priority’

AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tareq Hammouri on Tuesday called for a strict monitoring of the imported goods to the local market so as to ensure meeting the consumers’ needs as well as their conformity with high-quality standards and specifications, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During his visit to the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation, the minister said that the safety and quality of products are a “top priority” that should be maintained, stressing the necessity for taking measures that ensure performing work to the fullest. Hammouri was also briefed on the workflow of the organisation and the needed requirements to foster and fasten its performance.
