Hawari, UN Humanitarian Coordinator review health sector cooperation

AMMAN — Health Minister Feras Al Hawari on Tuesday discussed with UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Amman Anders Pedersen ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the healthcare field.
A ministry statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Wednesday said that Hawari praised the efforts of Pedersen and international institution representatives, who have implemented many projects in the healthcare sector.
He highlighted the efforts of Jordan and the UN to maintain cooperation to reach the largest COVID-19 vaccination coverage for refugees in the Kingdom. Pedersen reviewed the most prominent areas of cooperation with Jordan in the health field, mainly during the pandemic.
The meeting was attended by a number of representatives of international bodies in Jordan, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNRWA, UNICEF, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), and the United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA).
