Health minister, British ambassador discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Health Minister Saad Jaber and British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden on Monday discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare.
Jaber acquainted the British diplomat with the Jordanian healthcare system and the sector’s achievements, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister also said that the country has achieved positive health indicators, managed to increase life expectancy at birth and reduced maternal mortality rates.
Oakden expressed his country’s readiness to provide support to Jordan, “which carries the burden of hosting a large number of Syrian refugees”.
