Health Ministry holds emergency meeting on monkeypox

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health on Saturday held an emergency meeting to discuss monkeypox, a viral infection.
Talks focused on drawing up a national plan to identify monkeypox cases, establish an investigation mechanism and instructions to operationalise it, and report any suspicious cases at the Kingdom's border crossings and medical sectors.
The meeting was chaired by Secretary General of the Health Ministry for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases Raed Shboul and attended by adviser at the Prime Ministry for Health Affairs Adel Bilbeisi, Director of Epidemics Department Riyadh Shayyab and Director of the Directorate of Communicable Diseases at the Health Ministry Mohammad Hawarat, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
