Higher Jordanian-Bahraini Committee to hold fifth session in Manama Thursday

AMMAN — The ministerial committee responsible for preparing the meetings of the Higher Jordanian-Bahraini Committee, which will hold its fifth session in Manama on Thursday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The committee, headed by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and Minister of Labour Yousef Shamali and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani, concluded its meetings on Wednesday.

The two sides agreed on a number of mechanisms necessary to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields. 

The two ministers stressed the importance of implementing the vision and directives of the leaderships of the two countries to make tangible progress in various fields and serve common interests.

Shamali referred to existing opportunities for increasing cooperation in the economy, trade, investment, customs, transport, energy, agriculture, water, consumer protection, holding exhibitions, stimulating the private sector, tourism and others within an integrated and non-competitive framework based on partnership and common interests.

Shamali highlighted the importance of the industrial partnership that brings together Jordan, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt. 

In turn, the Bahraini minister said that holding meetings at this time is of great importance and reflects keenness to advance cooperation and frame the necessary agreements and memoranda of understanding, underlining the “solidity” of the bilateral relations with Jordan.
