Higher Population Council delegation takes part in Cairo meeting

AMMAN — A delegation from the Higher Population Council, headed by Secretary General of the council Abla Amawi, who is also president of the Arab Council for Population and Development, on Monday participated in the Experts Advisory Committee’s first meeting of the Arab Council for Population and Development events, held in Cairo and organised by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States/Social Affairs sector.
At the meeting, Amawi stressed the importance of unifying Arab efforts to confront population challenges affecting progress towards achieving sustainable development in the Arab world, according to a statement from the council.
Amawi called for implementing programmes supporting these efforts and exchanging Arab experience to achieve the desired objectives in addressing population issues, serving to implement the Arab Council for Population and Development’s action plan, which was recently launched in Jordan.
