AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omrar Razzaz has approved the Himmat Wattan Fund’s decision to allocate an additional JD1 million to support the "Safe return programme", the fund announced on Sunday.

The programme covers the expenses of the return of Jordanians stranded abroad. This is the second time that Himmat Wattan Fund, a national fund launched on March 31 to combat the COVID-19 outbreak in the Kingdom, has allocated funds to finance the return of Jordanians stranded abroad, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Himmat Watan Fund Vice Chairman Jamal Sarayrah said that the government, at the expense of the fund, until September 20 has ensured the safe return of 5,500 Jordanians from 30 countries, Petra added.
