Hospital association, interior minister discuss visas for ‘restricted nationalities’

AMMAN — Interior Minister Ghaleb Zu’bi on Tuesday met with board members of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA) and discussed visa issuance for “restricted nationalities” and their impact on medical tourism.

Zu’bi expressed keenness to support the sector and exerting all efforts to facilitate the entry of patients seeking treatment in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

PHA President Fawzi Hammouri said that restricting some Arab nationalities in the past two years resulted in a decline in the number of Libyan patients by 80 per cent, Yemenis by 50 per cent and Sudanese by 48 per cent.
