Hotel occupancy rate stands at 61% during Eid

AMMAN — Hotel occupancy rates in all categories in Amman, Aqaba, Dead Sea and Petra during the Eid Al Adha period stand at 61 per cent, Hussein Hilalat, deputy president of the Jordan Hotels Association, said on Monday. Hilalat told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the occupancy rate in Aqaba stands at 80 per cent, in Amman 62 per cent, the Dead Sea region 68 per cent and Petra 34 per cent.
According to hotel classification categories, Hilalat explained that occupancy rates in five-star hotels during the Eid period are 80 per cent in Aqaba, 62 per cent in Amman, 50 per cent in the Dead Sea region and 34 per cent in Petra. He added that four-star occupancy rates in Amman stand at 37 per cent, while in Aqaba, occupancy rates in four-star hotels reached 82 per cent and in three-star hotels reached 74 per cent. Hilalat noted that four-star hotels in the Dead Sea region have an occupancy rate of 75 per cent. In Petra, the rate at four-star hotels is 21 per cent, and stands at 30 per cent for three-star hotels.
