House open to suggestions on reform — speaker

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Tuesday met separately with Ambassador of the Netherlands Paul van den IJssel and Swedish Ambassador Helena Rietz.
Discussions covered bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual concern.
During the meetings, Tarawneh stressed the importance of parliamentary friendship committees in enhancing bilateral relations, briefing both diplomats on the Kingdom’s reform process.
He also voiced the House’s readiness to cooperate with political parties and local civil society organisations, adding that Parliament is open to their suggestions on reform-oriented laws, such as the Political Parties Law and the Elections Law.
The latest regional developments, especially the Syrian crisis and its impact on Jordan, were also discussed during the two meetings.
