House speaker, British ambassador discuss parliamentary cooperation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and British Ambassador to Jordan Bridget Brind on Tuesday discussed ways to enhance cooperation, mainly at the parliamentary level.
Safadi stressed the "deep-rooted" ties between the two kingdoms, reiterating the significance of cooperation and coordination to realise the countries' interests to achieve security and stability in the region and support the Palestinians' right to establish their independent state, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For her part, Brind expressed her country's keenness to boost cooperation, highlighting the importance of Jordan's modernisation steps.
She also referred to Jordan's great efforts regarding the refugee portfolio and voiced her country's appreciation for the Kingdom's role in achieving security and stability in the region.
