IAF declares support for Saudi Arabia against JASTA bill

AMMAN — The Islamic Action Front (IAF) on Saturday condemned the US decision to approve the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In a statement, the IAF said JASTA was against rules in place to boost relations among countries, which it said should be based on mutual tolerance and respect.
The IAF, the political wing of the banned Muslim Brotherhood, said that it supports Saudi Arabia in facing such “campaigns”, urging the world to provide legal and political assistance to Riyadh.
The government in September expressed its concern over JASTA, which it said could negatively impact international cooperation in countering terrorism.
The legislation would allow families of victims of the September 11 attacks in New York to sue Saudi Arabia for damages.
