AMMAN — Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the government on Thursday announced, at a signing ceremony, that the IDRC will open its regional office for the Middle East and North Africa in Amman.
The IDRC’s Host Country Agreement was signed by the IDRC’s President Jean Lebel and Foreign Ministry Secretary General Zeid Louzi, according to the IDRC website.
The two parties said that the IDRC’s new regional office location will maintain its ability to access every part of the region, convene partners and guests, and work closely with other international organisations operating in the region, according to the IDRC website.
The IDRC funds research across a range of areas including agriculture, the environment, technology, governance, gender and economic empowerment.
