AMMAN — Chairman of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) Musa Maaytah and Australian Ambassador to Jordan Bernard Lynch on Sunday discussed ways to enhance electoral cooperation.

Maaytah reviewed the commissions' achievements at the regional level, and its keenness to institutionalise relations with all partners, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also said several of Jordan's political parties rectified their status, adding that financing of political parties will be set according to elections results and seats each party wins in Parliament.

Lynch lauded remarkable development of IEC's work and its management of Jordan's electoral process, its openness to partners and efforts to benefit from global expertise in this regard.

He said that the steps made by the commission would reflect "positively" on Jordan's democratic reform, expressing his country's readiness to cooperate with the IEC in the field of elections, which would improve the Kingdom's electoral process.
