During the meeting, Maaytah reviewed the IEC's preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections, which included the publication of voters lists, training programmes and field surveys to select polling stations.
He also discussed the recent constitutional amendments and the important developments to the Election and Political Parties laws, which have significantly contributed to the participation of women and youth in political life, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that the IEC will cooperate with the EU mission to facilitate the observation phase in the next parliamentary elections.
The ambassador expressed appreciation for the commission’s cooperation with the EU delegation and emphasised the EU’s commitment to providing all necessary support to implement the commission’s programmes aimed at improving the electoral process.
