AMMAN — The Jordan Customs Department (JCD), in cooperation with security bodies, has transferred six fireworks containers from the Amman customs yard to Ghabawi area, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted JCD Spokesperson Fadi Qudah as saying Tuesday.
Qudah told Petra that all fireworks containers will be destroyed by the Royal Engineering Corps, adding that the Cabinet formed a committee to put a proper mechanism in place to deal with smuggled goods and fireworks that are a danger to public safety.
The Royal Engineering Corps will destroy the containers in designated areas set for that purpose, Petra reported.
