AMMAN — The Ministry of Labour on Tuesday called on all Jordanian private-sector employees with fixed-term contracts that expired at the end of April or later and who were informed by employers that their contracts would not be renewed to utilise the Hemayeh.jo platform to submit their complaints.
In a statement, the ministry said that the complaints will be addressed immediately by the concerned persons at the Ministry of Labour, in implementation of the recent circular issued pursuant to Defence Order No. 6 of 2020, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry noted that the circular, issued by the Prime Ministry on Sunday, stipulated the renewal of fixed-term work contracts that expire during the period from April 30, 2020 until the announcement of the expiration of the Defence Law, for Jordanian workers only.
The ministry has amended the “Hemayeh” platform in conjunction with the issuance of the new circular in order to receive labour complaints, especially those regarding the termination of contracts and the payment of wages.
This steps aims to reinstate those who have been dismissed in violation of the circular and to ensure that workers receive their financial rights.
