AMMAN — Initial results of lab tests of more than 300 samples of people from various areas in Irbid show “some signs of optimism”, Wael Hayajneh, the official overseeing the coronavirus crisis in the northern governorate, said on Tuesday. Two of the samples of the 300 are likely to show positive test results for the virus, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported quoting the official as saying.
Hayajneh, who is also a member of the National Epidemiological Committee, noted that investigation teams are still awaiting the results of lab tests of samples that were taken from people who were in contact with the Arab students who had tested positive upon their return to their country.
He also highlighted an increase in the public’s commitment and adherence to social distancing regulations, which “will contribute to a decline in the number of infections”.
