‘Inspections of pilgrims’ buses under way’

AMMAN — Some 193 buses out of 209 dedicated to transporting pilgrims to Mecca, have passed the Driver and Motor Vehicle Licensing Department’s technical inspection since August 1, Department Director Brig. Gen. Enad Rukeibat said on Thursday.
He added that inspections will continue until Sunday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
To pass the inspections, buses must be no older than 2008, except for European models which must be from 2007 or newer, and should have at least 40 seats, including the driver’s seat.
