Interior minister talks cooperation with Iraqi ambassador

AMMAN — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Sunday met Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Haider Al Athari over means of enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Iraq, mainly in the security and economic fields.
Talks also went over a number of issues related to the Iraqi community in Jordan, touching on combatting terrorism and extremism, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Hammad, during the meeting, highlighted the Royal directives to build bridges of cooperation with Iraq in all fields, mainly in the security and economic domains, to serve mutual interests.
The minister also expressed the Kingdom’s readiness to ease Iraqis’ entry into, and residency in, the Kingdom, in accordance with the regulations in force.
For his part, the Iraqi diplomat referred to a number of issues related to the Iraqi community in Jordan, drawing attention to the acceptance of Iraqi students in the Kingdom’s schools and lauding efforts towards easing Iraqis’ entry to the Kingdom.
