AMMAN — The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j) and StartupsJo, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, are preparing to launch the TechAid initiative next week.
The TechAid initiative aims to combat the economic, social and health repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and create a system for companies to organise their businesses within the framework of virtual world technologies, according to an Int@j statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday.
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthanna Gharaibeh said that the joint efforts by the government, the private sector and start-ups have contributed to finding new ideas and solutions for sustaining life amid the global coronavirus lockdown, adding that this cooperation “has demonstrated Jordan’s excellence” in entrepreneurship and the importance of the Kingdom’s infrastructure.
According to Chairman of Int@j Bashar Hawamdeh, the initiative is being launched to ensure the participation of companies that have ready business solutions to serve the country, noting that part of these solutions will be offered for free.
Companies that participate in the initiative will be supported by receiving high evaluations for implementing innovative business solutions, he added.
