Investment minister meets with Turkey, Belgium ambassadors

AMMAN — Investment Minister Kholoud Saqqaf on Wednesday met Turkish ambassador to Jordan Erdem Ozan and Belgium's Ambassador to Jordan Serge Dickschen over enhancing economic cooperation and investments with their countries.

In the two meetings —held separately— Saqqaf noted that Jordan is considered a regional hub for trade and investment, and that "Jordan is among the region's most flexible business and investment environments", according to a ministry statement. 

Several business environment reforms meant to transform Jordan into a destination for international and Arab investments were introduced. Saqqaf said, highlighting the new law governing the investment environment, which unified 18 separate systems, as well as the establishment of the Ministry of Investment. 

She invited both diplomats to avail of current investment opportunities in the ICT, logistics services, tourism, industry, agriculture, mining and healthcare fields, in addition to public-private sector projects.

Ozan commended Jordanian-Turkish relations and emphasised the need for expanding partnerships to take advantage of the Kingdom's competitive investment advantages.

The Belgium diplomat said that his country attaches great importance to the Kingdom's initiatives to increase investments as a demonstration of Jordan’s commitment to implement the reform roadmap and advance bilateral relations.
