AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday condemned in the strongest terms the “cowardly criminal and terrorist act” that targeted Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a Cabinet session, Khasawneh said that the assassination attempt threatened Iraq and its security and stability, which are “fundamentally interconnected” to regional security and stability, especially considering the national endeavours to pave the way for a stable Iraqi state that combats terrorism in Iraq and throughout the region.
The PM expressed Jordan's solidarity with Iraq and all the national forces that constitutionally advance Iraq and enable it to regain its leading role, in both Arab and international arenas.
“Iraq will not become an arena for settling disputes and conflicts that Iraq, its people and political leaders are not part of”, Khasawneh stated.
