Ishaqet checks on juvenile centre in Ruseifa

AMMAN — Minister of Social Development Basma Ishaqat on Wednesday paid an unannounced visit to Juvenile Education and Rehabilitation Centre (JERC) in Ruseifa, some 12km east of Amman, which specialises in juveniles between the ages of 16 and 18 years old, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ishaqat met with the juveniles and listened to their concerns and needs. She also toured the centre adding there was a need to organise the juveniles’ files and the mechanisms of referring their cases from judiciary and the periods of their imprisonment.
She checked on the centre’s work and the readiness of its employees as well. The visit focused on the programmes and activities of the centre, vocational rehab programmes and training.
