AMMAN — Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi, in the presence of Education Minister Omar Razzaz, on Tuesday inaugurated the Abu Al Sous Comprehensive Secondary School for Boys in Wadi Al Seer and Al Karameh mixed elementary school in Marka's Tareq neighbourhood.

The two schools were established under Royal directives following His Majesty King Abdullah's meetings with local residents of both districts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Abu Al Sous School can accommodate some 700 students from the fourth to the 11th grades in 21 classrooms and has four laboratories for physics, chemistry biology and computer, while the Karameh School can receive 1,500 students in 42 classrooms and counts several workshops and laboratories.

Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, said that His Majesty is keen on developing the level of education out of his belief that Jordan's future is associated with education and investment in the human resources.

For his part, Razzaz expressed his appreciation for King Abdullah's initiatives in establishing schools and supporting the educational sector to achieve a qualitative leap, and contribute to pushing forward the development process and provide a suitable educational environment that can unleash creativity, innovation and excellence among students.

He also commended other Royal initiatives that spotted overcrowding in schools and solved the problem through establishing schools with up-to-date facilities.
