Issawi oversees delivery of buses to charities, local institutions

AMMAN — Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal Initiatives, on Wednesday delivered nine buses to charities, sport clubs and local institutions that sponsor youth and the disabled. 

During the ceremony, which was held at the Royal Hashemite Court in the presence of Social Development Minister Basma Ishaqat, Issawi said that supporting youth and charities came in line with ongoing Royal Directives, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that sustainable socioeconomic development is one of His Majesty King Abdullah’s top priorities to meet Jordanians’ aspirations. Issawi said that the Royal Directives include projects for health, education, youth and other public services, and reflect the King’s vision to enhance social security.

Issawi also said that the support provided to local institutions, mainly disability centres, aims to enable these local institutions to achieve their mission and goals and improve their services.

He also highlighted the King’s role in supporting youth by creating suitable environments for them to take part in the sustainable development path.

For her part, Ishaqat said that the implementation of the Royal Directives has a direct role in improving the living standards of the underprivileged across the Kingdom, adding that the initiative helped the ministry achieve its goals.

Local community representatives voiced their appreciation of the Royal Initiative, which is expected to have a “positive” impact on the role of local institutions.
