AMMAN — The Nutraceutical Workshop in the Middle East, organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Office of Amman in collaboration with the Italian embassy in Jordan, will commence in Amman on Tuesday.
The event is also organised with the support of the ITA offices in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Lebanon, as well as the Italian Supplements & Health Association, said a statement from the Italian embassy in Amman.
The workshop features the participation of seven prominent Italian companies active in the nutraceutical sector, namely Aqma, Cor. Con. International, Farmaflor, Gruppo Farmaimpresa, Laerbium Pharma, Lentini Pharma and Omega Pharma.
These companies will have the opportunity to engage with over 75 professionals hailing not only from Jordan, but also from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories.
Italian Ambassador Luciano Pezzotti will inaugurate the seminar. The seminar will encompass presentations on the nutraceutical sector, both in Italy and within the markets of the participating countries. These presentations aim to provide a comprehensive overview to the Italian companies and attendees.
Individual meetings have been arranged following the morning seminar, continuing into the afternoon and into the next day of the conference. Italian companies have a total of over 400 scheduled meetings with their counterparts during this period.
The nutraceutical sector in Italy boasts a substantial turnover of 4 billion euros, establishing itself as the leading market in Europe with a market share of 29.5 per cent. Italy also stands out at the European level due to its exceptional professional female employment, production expertise and research and development initiatives.
The value generated by the pharmacy channel, which accounts for three-quarters of the total market value, has nearly doubled in the past decade, exceeding 3 billion euros in 2021.
